How can you go about finding leaks in swimming pool liners? It’s an oft-asked question among newbie and veteran pool owners alike. Before you in this article right here, the question will once and for all be answered – and promptly at that! You need not struggle with wondering if and where that leak is coming from anymore, because we have got the information you need right here.

One option you have is to put on a good old pair of goggles and just dive under the water, swimming around and looking for escaping air bubbles. This is what I call the visual method of detection. If you have no resources, I’d recommend doing it that way, but there are still more efficient ways of finding leaks in swimming pool liners.

A better option, but one that will cost you a couple dollars, is to use Fix-A-Leak. This is a hole-plugger put out by the company Marlig. I have note personally tried this solution, but here’s what they claim to be able to do: you just pour it in your pool and it will find the hole and plug it if it is less than one eighth of an inch thick. How does this work? I have no idea. But I thought that I should at least bring it to your attention.

Then there’s the old food coloring trick. This one gets mixed results. Basically, you drop some dark-colored food coloring into your pool, and then wait. Keep watching and it ought to be pulled toward the leak in your swimming pool liner, allowing you to finally find it. (Just don’t jump in while performing this experiment!)

Another visual trick for finding leaks in swimming pool liners is to look around the perimeter of the pool for where maybe the grass is healthier. This is a sign that possibly this part of the lawn is getting notably more water than the rest of it.
